Nearly five years after she left the spotlight, and following a prolonged spate of mental health issues, Amanda Bynes has given her first interview
The 31-year-old former child star sat down with Hollyscoop presenter Diana Madison to reveal she’s sober and ready to return to acting – whilst also touching on some of her more cringe-worthy Twitter interactions.
‘I’ve been going to school lately, fashion school, and I love it. I’ve learnt how to sew, I make patterns and I want to start a clothing line in the future,’ Amanda revealed at the start of the interview.
‘Other than that, I hike, I take spinning classes and I feed the homeless and that’s been really interesting and fun.’
When Madison asked Bynes if she missed acting, the former star told her she had something to reveal.
“I do miss acting and I actually have something surprising to tell you. I’m going to start acting again.
“I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it in the future,” she said.
And of course, the awkward topic of Bynes’ much-mocked Tweet to Drake in which she said she wanted him to ‘murder my vagina’ was brought up too.
‘I actually wasn’t being insincere, I was like saying, ‘murder my vagina’. I was serious but I was also on drugs so that was my way of saying, ‘Let’s do it man’ but I was on drugs and trying to be hilarious,’ Amanda admitted.
The interview comes after a few turbulent years in which the Easy A actress dealt with mental health issues and a string of brushes with the law — including two hit and run charges and two DUI arrests.
