It has emerged that missing teen Cassie Olczak, 16, was living in the bush for five days before she was rescued by a passing motorist.
Showing her apparent embarrassment at the drama that resulted from her still unexplained disappearance, the teen reportedly opened up to rescuers, saying ‘I’m so sorry’, before confessing to being ‘really hungry.’
Her condition has been reported as fair, after she turned up besides the Princess Highway, apparently distressed but physically OK. Her mother Connie is understandably relieved.
‘(It’s) the most amazing feeling in the world,’ she said. ‘I can’t describe it. I felt like I was living in a movie and I just had to keep looking at her – “oh my god, it’s actually her.’
Mother and daughter have now been reunited.
