AFL star Jake Stringer has shot back at untrue and malicious claims his ex-fiancee and mother of his two children is now in a relationship with his best friend.
Gossip sites have been rife with rumours that the poor on-field performance from Jake and his best friend – and fellow Western Bulldogs player Jason Johannisen was due to the complicated love scandal.
However the 23-year-old sports star took to Instagram earlier today to strongly deny the allegations against his friend and former fiancée Abby Gilmore.
“Let’s all get one thing straight!!! Abby is the best mum to my little girls and has not done one thing WRONG EVER,” he wrote, before informing fans that Jason is “like a brother” to him.
“So if you wanna talk crap leave my family and mates alone go else cause it’s all bulls**!” he wrote, adding the hashtag #ENDOFSTORY.
Abby – a popular blogger – also aired her opinion.
“It’s getting super old, Jason is my best mate and that’s it,” she vented on Instagram.
“There is no story. I don’t get why people assume more.”
Abby and Jake had been together since the age of 13, before ending their relationship shortly after the birth of their second child.
“Put me on live TV and hook me up to a lie detector… honestly, I feel like that’s what it’s come to. I’ve never touched Jason and I don’t ever plan on it,” she continued.
“He’s one of my best friends and always will be… what happened with Jake and I had absolutely nothing to do with Jason.”
