The singer breaks down as she’s forced to cancel show due to illness

British singer Adele has been wowing fans all over the US as she tours the country with her latest album.

All dolled up with her perfectly poised Old Hollywood style and impeccably applied winged eyeliner, the songstress has been belting out her powerful vocals to a rousing reception.

However, on Thursday, the multi Grammy Award-winner with a shadow of her usually glam self as she stripped back all the glitz and glamour to make a public apology to her fans.

Forced to cancel her second show in Phoenix, Arizona after coming down with a cold that left her unable to sing, a visibly distressed Adele filmed herself as she broke the news via social media.

With not a lick of makeup on and her eyes red from crying, the 28-year-old broke down as she admitted she’d pushed herself to breaking point.

‘I can’t do my show tonight – my second show here. I’m really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days and I’ve been pushing through it and I did my show last night and I loved it, but I pushed too hard and my cold has gotten the better of me,’ the mum-of-one explained. ‘As you can hear, even if I did the show it wouldn’t be very good.

‘I’ve pushed through a lot of things, but I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up, and nothing’s really happening. It’s the last thing I want to do but I have to look after myself.

‘I will reschedule this show, I promise you. I will come back and I’ll smash it for you.’
