So it’s safe to say that Ada Nicodemou would have been privy to a thing or two during that time that would surprise fans of the long-time Aussie drama.
During an appearance on The Morning Show, the 39-year-old lifted the lid on some secrets – including the fact she’s terrible at crying on demand!
‘I’m really bad at it,’ Ada, who plays often-tearful Leah, revealed. ‘We’ve got a little secret that we use: it’s called a “tear blower” and it’s basically a bit of a mentholated spirit type of thing that they blow in your eye. That kind of brings it on, and if you’ve got the emotion behind it you can cry.’
So what else would viewers be surprised to know about the show?
The sets aren’t up permanently – rather they’re on rotation, which can mean some days you’re only shooting one scene while others can be ‘up to 12 to 14’.
‘It really depends on the sets and the days as well,’ she spills. ‘When the Diner set is up, we shoot all the Diner scenes; when the Summer Bay House is up, we shoot all of those. So on those days, because it’s my house, there’s a lot of scenes to do and a lot of dialogue.’
