Well this isn’t something we thought we’d hear!
A portrait of mummy blogger Constance Hall posing in her underwear has been entered into the Archibald Price
The painting, titled ‘Like a Queen’ is by Constance’s aunt Olivia Samec, who is an artist based in Western Australia.
‘Uncensored, she inspires women not to underestimate themselves – raw, funny, clever and compassionate,” said Olivia of the painting.
‘I just couldn’t go past it, that image is so empowering for women, I found it so inspiring.’
‘Also I completely just applaud the strength and all the positive messages that this painting expresses.’
The Archibald Prize is awarded annually to the best portrait, ‘preferentially of some man or woman distinguished in art, letters, science or politics, painted by any artist resident in Australasia’.
Constance also shared the exciting news via Instagram.
‘This is my aunty and she’s done me the honour of painting this and entering it into the Archibald!!!! Wish her luck Queens! She’s so talented that she doesn’t really need it though.’
Posting the original photo of herself on Instagram about 18 months ago, Constance called for women to share a photo of themselves and embrace their bodies.
