Thorburn was on the Network Ten breakfast program to discuss her upcoming children's book, but it wasn't long before her very bitter feud with ex-husband Stefanovic was brought up.
Host Sarah Harris stated: 'It would be tricky being mum and dad for your kids...'
Cassandra, visibly thrown, reaffirmed that her three children - Jackson, 18, Ava, 13, and River, 11 - still do have their father.
'But you’re not mum and dad. My children still have a dad - of course they do. I’m not replacing him in that position. He still holds that position,' Cassandra hit back.
Harris then further probed Cassandra about her current dating life.
Sarah asked, 'You are a great mum, and I know your life is all about them at the moment, but is the door open to maybe…love again?'
Cassandra, again visibly gobsmacked by the question, was quick to quip, 'What? So I need another - so do I need to have a man?'
'Do I need to have a man to continue on?'
Harris quickly regained the segment, claiming the comment was light-hearted, adding: 'We've known each other for years.'
'I think you have to be open to anything coming your way in life,' Cassandra then answered seriously, 'But at the moment, I’m not focused on it.'
Cassandra also claimed she was enjoying her new life as a divorcee and 'getting to know' herself.
