Britney Spears had quite the scare on Wednesday night when an overzealous fan approached her while she was performing in Las Vegas.
The mother-of-two was in the middle of singing (You Drive Me) Crazy, when 37-year-old Jesse Webb jumped onto the stage and ran towards her.
At first, the 35-year-old singer seemed unaware of the danger, continuing to pump up the crowd and yelling, “are you guys having fun?”
But the gravity of the situation soon became clear as a team of security tackled the man to the ground and proceeded to surround the singer.
In a fan-recorded video she can be heard asking: “Is everything okay? What’s going on?”
She then follows this up with, “He’s got a gun?”
A second clip shows the guards – and a selection of Britney’s back up dancers – holding the man down and handcuffing him.
The Piece of Me hit maker was quickly escorted off-stage and the attacker was removed from the venue.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has since confirmed that Webb was arrested for trespassing.
“Webb was asked to leave the concert by security prior to him jumping on stage and dancing,” a statement read.
“Webb was transported to the Clark County Detention Centre.”
Authorities are yet to release any further information on the incident.
