After attempting to bribe Jess $10,000 to leave her son, Fatima lost her battle when her son Seyat confronted her actions and expressed his displeasure.
And in episode six the parents and the couples sit down together in the family therapy sessions and Fatima reveals if she can finally let go.
In an emotionally charged session, the therapist gets Fatima to look at an old picture of when Seyat was a boy and look him in the eye and tell him how she is feeling.
She expresses she is feeling fearful of letting her son go and starts to well up.
As the realisation hits that her son is now a grown man she begins to open up.
“I love you and I have to let go of you… you’re a man now,” she reveals.
Seyat is pleased. It appears his mother-in-law is taking the first steps to accepting his marriage.
Previously Fatima has said Jess is not right for Seyat and thinks she’s a party girl.
"I want my son to be with a home girl, to cook, clean after him. I don't like party girls," Fatima says.
"Jess is very dirty, she smells like cats."
Seyat has struggled to come to terms with his mum’s strong opinions saying:
“My mum who raised me from a baby to now, she has done a good job. That’s why I love her. But then again, I love Jess so much. I love them both. They are the most important people in my life, that’s why I find it very hard. Being the person in the middle is difficult."
