Brendan Fevola and partner Alex welcomed a daughter on November 28, and shared with fans that they had named their new arrival 'Brenda.'
Fans had mixed receptions to the baby name tribute, with some claiming it was hilarious and others saying it was sweet.
Now, the footy star turned radio host has revealed it was all a prank!
Shortly after the birth, Brendan called into the Fox 101.9 Fifi, Fev & Byron radio show, telling his co-hosts that his daughter has "a huge head of hair" and looks just like him.
He gushed, "You should see how much hair she's got. It's amazing. She looks like me a bit...she's super cute."
The radio host added, "She's a little mini me. Little fat cheeks, she's so cute."
The doting dad continued, "(It's) the most amazing feeling of all time."
"Alex is amazing. She's incredible."
Fifi asked, "Does this little angel have a little name yet?"
"Yes, she does," Brendan replied hesitantly.
"Any chance you'll tell us?" Fifi continued.
"We've decided on Brenda Fevola," the doting dad said.
Fifi and Byron started laughing.
"Be quiet, it might actually be the name," Byron said.
Taking to Instagram, Brendan then revealed his newborn daughters REAL name.
Sharing a sweet snap, he wrote: "Tobi Fevola."
Fans were quick to comment on the photo, "She is perfect. Welcome Tobi," one wrote.
Another added, "Congratulations buddy...four little ladies to love."
A third echoed, "TOBI is a beautiful name for such a cute button, she is divine."
The former Carlton football player and Alex share two children, daughters Leni, 12, Lulu, 8.
Brendan is also a proud stepfather to Alex's daughter Mia, 18, from a previous relationship.
