“Angelina has been trying to heal the rift between father and son,” said the source.
“Maddox hasn’t been receptive and for Brad it’s a tremendous loss,” they added.
Brad is said to be unsure that his ex is really “making a concerted effort” to reconnect them he “remains upbeat that Maddox will reach out.”
Ever since Brad allegedly got into an altercation with Maddox on a private plane in 2016, that led Angelina to file for divorce, the pair have had somewhat of a frosty relationship.
In fact, sources claim that Maddox does not see Brad as his father. “Maddox doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son,” and insider told US Weekly previously with a second source adding that Maddox, “is very close with Angie.”

The publication also reported that Brad only found out that Maddox planned to attend Yonsei University in South Korea via the media, suggesting the pair don’t communicate at all.
The source further claimed that Maddox holds ‘some simmering resentment’ towards the actor and that last Christmas the young teen ‘refused’ to go to his dad’s place to open presents.
“Maddox refused to go, and Pax didn’t go either,” a source said.
“[Maddox and Pax] spend more time with their friends and are busy doing their own thing,” said the insider. “They spend less time than they used to with the younger kids and the family.”
