Viewers were squirming in their seats during Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice Australia, after a playful exchange between judges quickly turned into a war of words.
When Victorian contestant Anthony Sharp was quick to leave the stage after joining Team Delta, Boy George vented his frustration at not having an opportunity to provide him with feedback.
“Hey Delta!” George began.
“I know I’m down the end but I actually didn’t get a chance to say something.”
Delta replied: “Sorry my love. You can say anything you want anytime. I’m not precious.”
“I might have had some pearls of wisdom, darling,” George said, before the Aussie singer asked to hear his musings.
“Don’t worry, I know the runnings now,” he continued as the pair’s fellow co-stars Kelly Rowland and Seal appeared to grow increasingly uncomfortable.
“Well maybe you should have hit that buzzer, George,” Delta said.
“No, that doesn’t necessarily always have to be the process, as you know,” George hit back.
“Please, teach me your ways,” The former Neighbours star, who has previously appeared on four seasons of the show, continued.
“I’ve just got here.”
But Brit-born George had the final say, shutting down the Born To Try chartslayer once and for all.
“Don’t argue with the Princess of Australia,” he said.
“Or the Queen of England.”
