Pop star Bonnie Anderson has taken to Instagram to announce that she has been cast as a new character on iconic Australian TV show, Neighbours.

FINALLY!!! I can talk about what I have been up to all year. I've had to keep a secret for quite some time and I am beyond excited to announce, I have joined the cast of the iconic Australian tv show @neighbours as 'Bea Nillson' I am the younger sister of @jodigordon 'Elly' and the niece of Jackie Woodburne 'Susan Kennedy' I am so lucky to be working with such amazing people. I love you all! This is my first acting job and I am very grateful for this opportunity. Go easy on me folks 😉 first episode airs on the 18th of May @eleven_tv - 6:30pm Wooooooo! Before confirming that she will be playing a character named ‘Bea Nillson’, the younger sister ‘Elly’, played by Jodi Gordan and the niece of ‘Susan Kennedy’, played by Jackie Woodburne.

"I am so lucky to be working with such amazing people. I love you all! This is my first acting job and I am very grateful for this opportunity," Anderson wrote.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the positive feedback and love. I really am so pleased and excited to be a part of the @neighbours family. Beatrix 'Bea' Nillson finally comes to Ramsay Street and airs on May 18 and I hope you enjoy my character as much as I do. Thanks again for all the support! Anderson makes her debut on May 18, on ELEVEN at 6.30pm.
