They haven’t even officially announced their birth – but the names of Beyoncé and Jay Z’s twins may just have been revealed.
The newborns – believed to be a boy and girl – may be named Rumi and Sir Carter, according to trademark documents filed to the United States Patent and Trademark Office earlier this week.
According to website TMZ, the company run by the megastar couple filed legal documents to secure the rights to the unusual monikers.
The documents were filed by the same company that filed to trademark their five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy’s name earlier this year.
The name Rumi would appear to pay homage to 13th century Persian poet by the same name, whilst Sir also happens to be referenced in one of his most famous poems:
“Bring the pure wine of
love and freedom.
But sir, a tornado is coming.
More wine, we'll teach this storm
A thing or two about whirling.”
