Television presenter Zoe Marshall has opened up about escaping a violent relationship, and how the experience impacts her incredibly happy relationship with NRL star Benji Marshall.
The 33-year-old revealed how she 'feared for her life' while with her ex-partner.
Marshall claims she had her head smashed against a wall and even contemplated suicide.
Now, heavily pregnant with her and Benji's first child, the soon-to-be mum said during that tumultuous relationship she was scared for her life.
'I had moments where I thought 'I'm going to die,'' she told.
Marshall also revealed she was dragged across the floor by her hair and even had her head split open. Despite thinking about ending her life she clawed her way back.
Marshall further credits her West Tigers husband as helping her recover emotionally, despite the 'baggage' she brought to their relationship.
'Thank God I had someone like Benji who went 'this is really full-on but I'm going to be patient with it,' she revealed.
While eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first child, Marshall has created a clothing line for women, Ruled By None. The range. which includes t-shirts with slogans such as 'Don't Touch Me', was launched to empower women.
Part of the proceeds from it's sales go towards the charity Share The Dignity, which supports women who are victims of domestic violence and homelessness.
