The trick to getting smoother skin is through exfoliation. This creates brightness by removing dead skin cells. Using a chemical exfoliant dissolves these cells, and it’s worth choosing a product with a 5-8% concentration of glycolic acid.

Glycolic acid assists your skin’s natural exfoliation process in removing dead cells that hold brown pigments clumped together over the years. Just make sure you read and follow the directions when a chemical exfoliant.

Repair The Damage

Use a daily vitamin B3 cream to rejuvenate your sun damaged skin such as Solarcare B3. This can help with reducing the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmented brown spots and red blotchiness.

It works by re-enabling the skin’s natural immune system to function, which allows DNA to repair itself.

Protect Yourself

Using sunscreen every day will help prevent any further damage to your skin. Choose make-up that has SPF protection when you’re going to be in the sun for short periods of time.

For those times when you’re going to be outdoors in the sun for long periods, pack the sunscreen and remember to reapply every couple of hours.
