“I didn’t think going to an event with a bunch of reality rejects would be where I met my soulmate,” says Mick in his typically frank style.
“Kayla is perfect for me. I have struck gold. She is everything I asked for when I signed up for MAFS – even more.”
Kayla is just as sure that Mick is the one for her, saying, “He’s pretty much everything I was looking for when I went on The Bachelor.
He’s tall, dark and handsome and funny, and he’s a bit of an idiot, which I love!”
After a whirlwind romance, the couple are now very much settled on the farm.
“I love it here,” Kayla says. “I grew up on a farm so it’s not that different to what I’m used to.
“We’ll be staying here for a very long time.” Mick adds: “I’m not going anywhere!”
Despite their relationship still being in its early stages,
Mick and Kayla are already planning for the future.
“We’ve already spoken about having kids, probably in the next year or two,” Mick reveals, adding: “Otherwise I’ll be too old.”
“My body is struggling to carry kids around as it is now. I’m only 32 but my shoulder is stuffed, my knee is buggered and I’ve lost a finger. “So the longer we delay it, the more limbs I could lose. Time is of the essence!”
Kayla, who gave up her job as a flight attendant to move to Mick’s farm, is just as keen, revealing: “We’re renovating the house now so we’ve got room for kids.”
Mick adds: “I built in part of the deck to make a kid’s room. I’ve put the finishing touches on it so we’re almost good to go!” And it would seem the couple are destined to have a family.
“A psychic recently told me that Kayla is The One and that we’re going to have a boy and a girl,” Mick says. “The boy is going to follow Kayla around and the girl is going to follow me around, apparently.”
Kayla also feels like her future with Mick is written in the stars, saying, “As crazy as our love story sounds, I think it was definitely meant to be.”
The couple have already started throwing around ideas for names.
“Kayla has a sick obsession with the Adelaide Crows, in particular one player – Taylor Walker – so she’ll probably name one after him, either Taylor or Walker,” Mick jokes. “I’ve always liked classic Australian names like Barry, Gary or Larry.”
Kayla adds: “His dog is called Gary and his ram is Roger.” “What about Reginald? Reggie? That’s cute for a boy!”
Mick says. Marriage is also on the cards, with the farmer hinting, “I will ask her one day. All I will say is very soon.”
