Pia and her partner Luke Hannigan are parents to Lily, 9, and James, 6.
“We are like every other family in Australia so that money is somewhat overwhelming to think about but also it is really life-changing for my kids and for our lives to take the pressure off,” she told Confidential.
“A fair whack will go towards the mortgage. We don’t get paid a lot, we are not Hollywood actors in Australia so I am certainly not someone who is shopping at Gucci or going to Mykonos so it is really helpful.”
During last night’s episode, Pia was left shocked as host Jonathan LaPaglia revealed that she had won by a landslide - a 9-0 victory.
Before getting into the top two, Pia and Baden had to fight alongside Harry for the final immunity necklace.
The trio were put onto pedestals where they had to hold idol weights without letting them drop. After six hours and 40 minutes, Harry stopped first, then Pia but Baden held strong.
Baden won the challenge and the immunity spot to the grand final but made the error of taking Pia with him.
Pia and Baden both pleaded their case to the nine members of the jury, but it was Pia who came out on top securing all nine votes.
“I'll be first out... or I'll win,” she said at the start of the season adding, “I really believe that.”
