A Sydney woman claims she ate her own twin after finding a small cyst inside of her that was growing human bits.
Natashjja Heming discovered the ‘peach-sized’ growth, after experiencing almost 10 years of pain in her lower stomach.
According to various news reports, the cyst contained hair, teeth, brain matter, spinal fluid and human skin and was wrapped around Natashija’s fallopian tubes.
'I joke that I ate my twin in the womb, which is not a scientifically proven thing, but it has been mentioned,' the 22-year-old said.
She also described feeling ‘sharp pain’, similar to extreme menstrual cramping, in her abdomen from the age of 13.
The pain grew more severe during her high school days yet she continued a ‘grin and bear it’ approach to dealing with it.
An ultrasound eventually determined the source of the pain and Natashija said she was relieved she was not crazy - these cysts do indeed develop when skin is trapped during fetal development.
She added that she has multiple sets of twins in her family, which confirmed her belief even further.
