Ingredients
2 sheets frozen shortcrust pastry
1 large can apple pie filling
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup cugar
Caramel sauce for dipping
Method

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Line tray with non-stick baking paper and set aside.

Allow frozen shortcrust pastry sheets to warm slightly to make them easier to work with.

Spread apple pie filling on top of one sheet of pastry.

Place other sheet of pastry on top.

Cut into 2cm strips and then cut to fry sized lengths.

Beat egg in bowl until well blended and brush over the apple fries.

Mix together sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and sprinkle lightly over the apple fries.

Transfer to prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
