No one was surprised when Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt didn’t request anything conventional for her 13th birthday celebrations in Los Angeles – just like her mum, Angelina Jolie, the teen has always marched to the beat of her own drum.
But the present that Angelina gave her oldest biological daughter has been described as ‘dark and twisted.’
Taking a break from promoting her new movie, the typically dark Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Angelina was determined to give Shiloh her own dark day to remember.

Shiloh is reported to have requested a visit to Hollywood's trendy escape room The Basement, which simulates a scenario where participants are kidnapped by a terrifying 'serial killer' played by live actors.
The game is so full-on that children under 13 are not allowed to participate.
"It’s definitely not every adolescent’s cup of tea," a source told US magazine In Touch Weekly.
"Shiloh loves challenges, dark fantasy worlds, puzzles, movies and indie music. Edgy stuff, just like Angie," says the source.
"She definitely marches to a different drummer, and Angie not only loves that about her. But encourages it.”
Shiloh and her older siblings, 17-year-old Maddox, 15-year-old Pax and 14-year-old Zahara, loved the escape room experience which included being trapped by the killer in a lift shaft.
Due to the age restriction, 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne were not seen at Shiloh's 13th birthday, but when she can Angie always makes sure to bring her little ones along to star studded red carpet events.

"It’s pretty dark and twisted," a source told the magazine.
But Shiloh apparently loved it and rang dad Brad Pitt to enthuse about the day out.
For her part, Angelina was glad she let her daughter go.
"Shiloh won’t be boxed in," says a source, "Angie seems to be letting her fly."
In April, Us Weekly reported that Angelina is a "creative and devoted parent" to her brood and is "always coming up with fun things to do".
Jolie, a longtime UN ambassador, is said to cook and create art with her children, but the 43-year-old is also preparing her kids for the working world by producing a new BBC global current affairs TV programme for children with her little ones.
She recently told People: "We enjoy reading the kids pullout of the New York Times and look at National Geographic, but as a parents I felt there wasn't that one vetted and reliable internationally-minded news programme tailored for children that we could sit down and watch together each week.
"That's what I hope this will be for our family and for other families."
Born in Namibia in May 2006, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt is the first child of Angelina and her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The celebrity duo announced their separation in 2016 shortly after Pitt infamously engaged in a heated argument with the couple's son Maddox on an airplane.
