The Scot posted a series of pictures from hospital of his 'hip resurfacing' procedure, with the second image showing a bit more than the two-time Wimbledon champion had intended.
Murray captioned the pictures: "I underwent a hip resurfacing surgery in London yesterday morning...feeling a bit battered and bruised just now but hopefully that will be the end of my hip pain 😀 I now have a metal hip as you can see in the 2nd photo 👉👉 and I look like I've got a bit of a gut in photo 1😂"
Unfortunately for Murray, the second image reveals more than just bones...
One user wrote: "I’ll be honest with you Andy, it’s not the gut that caught my eye."
Another posted: "Wonder if any one realised you could see @andy_murray twig and giggle berries on the hip replacement x ray. anyway andy murrary wish you a speedy recovery."
Andy Murray was knocked out of the Australian Open in the first round.
