A two-year-old child is missing after they were dragged into a lake by an alligator at a Disney resort.
The child, who is believed to be a boy, was dragged into Seven Seas Lagoon near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on Tuesday evening at around 9.30 p.m, Orange Country Sheriff spokesperson Rose Silva told the Orlando Sentinel.
The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a luxurious resort owned by Disney. It is one of three resorts overlooking the lagoon.
The child was reportedly watching a movie on the beach with his family before being taken.
According to a witness the child’s father attempted to 'wrestle' with the alligator.
‘Just overheard a group talking about how the father was wrestling with the alligator. This just gets worse and worse,’ a commenter wrote on Twitter.
Authorities are still searching for the missing child and according to Twitter user Katherine White Popp, the 'search party is growing.'
