If the recent wine awards in Melbourne are anything to go by, expensive wine isn’t necessarily better.
While a $6 bottle of St Andrews Cabernet Sauvignon made headlines last week after winning a double gold medal, it wasn’t the only wine worth mentioning.
Aldi wines also dominated: most notable were from the One Road vineyard in South Australia.
A $6.99 bottle of One Road South Australian Heathcote Shiraz 2015 took out a Double Gold award.
Additionally, One Road’s Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot 2015 $6.99 was also a gold winner.
