A stranger threw acid in my face
The instant young dad Andreas Christopheros opened his front door to a stranger, he was doused with acid – blinding him and destroying his face, and his life, forever.
‘It all happened so quickly,’ says Andreas of the December 2014 attack. ‘I assumed it was a Christmas parcel being delivered.
‘I opened the door and a man was on the doorstep holding a large beaker. He shouted: “This is for you, mate,” and flung his arm up towards me. I barely got a look at [him] before he threw the acid straight in my face.’
David Phillips, 48, was given a life sentence for the attack – which he admitted in court was a case of mistaken identity.
