The ‘90s baby names making a comeback

Of course they are. - by Anna McClelland
  • 26 Mar 2018

First it was scrunchies, then it was bum bags, then - for one terrifying moment - the return of the skinny brow: and now ‘90s-era baby names are suddenly back in fashion.

Parenting website BabyCentre has listed their ‘90s baby name predictions for boys and girls, and they sound pretty much the same as your Year 1 classroom roll call, circa 1994.

Think Jennifer, Stephanie, Natalie and Kimberley for girls; Bradley, Daniel, Nathan, Nicholas and Paul for boys. In other words, the same names that your current group of friends has (‘90s babies unite).

“While these names may sound over-familiar and even old-fashioned to us ‘80s and ‘90s kids, they’ll be a breath of fresh air among all the Ivys and Noahs at nursery and playgroup,” BabyCentre says.
