The little girl who lost her family a fire has received a new hand and foot.
Eight-year-old Safyre was the sole survivor when her New York home was set on fire in an act of arson. Suffering burns to 75 per cent of her body, Safyre also lost her hand and her foot.
Safyre's aunt, Liz Dolder, shared the exciting news on Facebook.
‘Good evening everyone. On Friday Safyre got her new hand and foot. It was the best day ever she said she is on cloud nine. Loving the glow she has. HOPE FAITH & LOVE TO ALL,’ she wrote.
Sadly, Safyre's dad, David Terry, and three siblings - Layah, 3, Michael, 2, and Donavan Duell, 11 months - were killed in the 2013 fire.
According to reports fire fighters found Safyre next to her father, who was using his body as a shield.
The girl captured hearts around the world last year where she asked for Christmas cards to fill her tree.
The callout for cards was shared on social media thousands of times, including professional wrestler Hulk Hogan.
‘Alright maniacs let's make Safyre's Christmas Dream come true!' he wrote on Facebook.
‘All she wants is Christmas Cards from around the world, but a little extra Christmas magic wouldn't hurt!’
In the end, her total card count reached over a million.
As for her new prostheses, Dolder told FOX 5 News, ‘Safyre is doing great. She's getting around great.’
