Ms Brown also opened up about Kohlhepp killed her boyfriend, David "Charlie" Carver in front of her, and would take her to his grave to threaten her.
“He shot Charlie in the chest three times; he said it was easier to control someone if you took someone they loved,” she recalled through tears. “He let me know that if I fought back he would kill me. And then he raped me.”
Ms Brown believes Kohlhepp didn't want her dead, and that he hoped she would fall in love with him.
“He didn’t want to kill me, he wanted to keep me; that’s why I did what I had to do to survive,” she continued. “No matter what he did to me, he did not break me. He cannot destroy me and I won.”
Following his arrest Kohlhepp allegedly confessed to killing as many as seven people since 2003. He remains in custody charged with kidnapping and murder in the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
